The State Of The Corporate PC 2006

How Users Rate Their Primary PC Supplier

by Simon Yates

with Galen Schreck, Rachel Batiancila

Executive Summary (This is a document excerpt)

Forrester's May 2006 Business Technographics® survey of 454 PC decision-makers in North American enterprises revealed that Dell retained its position as the preferred supplier of desktops and laptops and actually gained presence during the last 12 months. Sixty percent of deployed corporate PCs now run Windows XP SP2, and Microsoft Windows Vista plans are starting to take shape, with a healthy 40% planning to start their deployments in the first year following release. We also asked respondents to rate their level of satisfaction with their primary laptop supplier on pricing, innovation, product quality, support, and the overall business relationship. Dell got the nod on pricing, while Lenovo's customers were the most satisfied with the manufacturer's efforts to innovate.
